Care & Maintenance

Made for the Aussie outdoors — built to last with a little care.

Sun, salt air, dust storms, thunderstorms — Australian weather is tough on outdoor furniture. A quick routine keeps every piece looking new for years. Here's exactly what to do, by material and by season.

Care Guide

Keep it looking new for decades

A few minutes of upkeep a month is all it takes. Follow these simple steps and your set will weather every Aussie summer in style.

Weekly rinse

Hose off salt, dust and pollen with fresh water. A soft cloth and warm soapy water (mild dish soap) lifts marks without stripping the finish.

Deep clean every 1–2 months

Wipe frames with a soft microfibre and diluted pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid bleach, solvents, abrasive sponges or pressure washers — they'll damage the protective coating.

Shade where you can

Our cushions are UV-stable, but parking pieces in part-shade extends colour life. Rotate cushions every few weeks for even wear.

Let it breathe & dry

After heavy rain or a hose-down, stand cushions on their edge so water drains and air circulates. Putting damp cushions away invites mildew.

Store smart in winter

Use the included weatherproof covers for extended wet or cold spells. Store cushion inserts indoors or in a dry shed if the set won't be used for weeks.

Protect the frame

Touch up any minor scratches with a matching outdoor enamel pen to stop moisture reaching the metal underneath. Tighten bolts once a season — outdoor heat cycles loosen hardware over time.

By material

  • Powder-coated aluminium / steel

Warm soapy water + microfibre. Never use steel wool or abrasive pads — they break the protective coat.

  • Teak & hardwood

Will silver naturally over time. Apply outdoor teak oil 1–2× per year to retain the warm honey tone.

  • Rattan / wicker (synthetic)

Soft brush + soapy water to lift dirt from the weave. Rinse and air dry fully before re-covering.

  • Outdoor cushions & covers

Spot clean with mild soap. Most covers are zip-off and machine washable on cold, air dry only — never tumble.

Do

  • • Rinse with fresh water weekly
  • • Use mild soap and a soft cloth
  • • Cover or store during long wet spells
  • • Tighten bolts once a season

Don't

  • • Use bleach, solvents or oven cleaner
  • • Pressure-wash frames or cushions
